Mission: The Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada (CDF Canada) is an international development group established in 1947. We create equal opportunities for economic, gender empowerment and environmental resilience in communities around the world. We are looking for a volunteer to help us identify and research potential corporate and foundation funders. If the volunteer is comfortable/interested, then the Manager will work with them to develop funding proposals.

Volunteer Position Description: 4-6 hours/week; 4 weeks duration (with possible extension)

Terms of Reference

Planned Giving Program
• Work with dept. administrator to build a list of planned giving prospects
• Develop a planned giving acquisition strategy
• Develop a planned giving strategy implementation plan
• Work with communications team to develop supporting collateral, including website, print and social media

Monthly Donor Program
• Work with dept. administrator to build a list of monthly donor prospects
• Develop a monthly donor acquisition strategy
• Develop a monthly donor acquisition implementation plan
• Work with communications team to develop supporting collateral, including website, print and social media

Desired skills/knowledge
• Understanding of fundraising principles
• Excellent capacity to work in a small team dedicated to fundraising
• Excellent organizational skills
• Resourcefulness
• Effective oral and written communication and analytical skills
• Initiative, self-motivated, creative and with sound judgement
• Maintain discretion and absolute confidentiality, at all times
• Computer literacy, knowledge of Donor Perfect is an asset
