Mission: The mission of The Good Companions is to offer programs and services, in partnership with volunteers, to promote, enhance and support the well-being, independence and zest for living of both lder adults and adults with physical disabilities.

Volunteer Position Description: The Pianist Volunteer provides accompaniment for the Chapel Service for the Adult Day Program.

Tasks

• Play music for inter-denominational chapel service;
• Meet with clergy, prior to service to review hymns to be played;
• Attend chapel service;
• Work with Day Centre Coordinator to ensure the program runs smoothly;
• Attends meetings and training as scheduled.

Requirements

• Warm, friendly, courteous manner;
• Positive people oriented personality;
• Punctual and reliable;
• Understands the needs, interests and concerns of older adults and adults with physical disabilities.
• Plays instrument competently and is able to read music;
• Flexible;
• Can work independently;
• Maintains confidentiality;
• Maintains confidentiality;
• Able and willing to ask for support when needed; and
• Can abide by the limits and boundaries of the program.

Time Commitment

• Weekly shift (Monday, Wednesday or Thursday 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.)
