Mission: The mission of The Good Companions is to offer programs and services, in partnership with volunteers, to promote, enhance and support the well-being, independence and zest for living of both lder adults and adults with physical disabilities.

Volunteer Position Description: The Birthday Party Caller assists in the preparation of The Good Companions’ monthly Birthday Party. The Birthday Party is for all members who celebrate a birthday that month. Guests and other members also attend.

2. Duties:
• Tracks and records volunteer hours;
• Attends meetings/training as scheduled;
• Phones people from a list, one to two weeks prior to the Birthday Party.

3. Personal Qualities, Requirements:
• Warm, friendly, courteous manner;
• Positive people oriented personality;
• Punctual and reliable;
• Maintains confidentiality;
• Understands the needs, interests and concerns of older adults and adults with physical disabilities;
• Can work independently.
4. Working Environment:
The Birthday caller works alone at home.

5. Time Required:
• Time required to complete the job, approximately two hours per month.
