Volunteer description:
We are excited to welcome new volunteers to the Pathway Patrol program who share a passion for the safe shared use of our pathways and parks.
The City of Ottawa’s Pathway Patrol program has been helping make Ottawa’s pathways safer since 1997. We are a team of friendly volunteers who walk, run, roll and cycle in pairs acting as ambassadors with “eyes on the path”.
Responsibilities of being a Pathway Patroller:
- Minimum commitment of 6 hours/month
- Resident-driven interactions
- Provide assistance, and educational information to pathway users when necessary
- Provide basic trail maintenance and/or report major maintenance requirements
- Provide emergency first aid as needed and requested
Volunteer position requirements:
- 18+ years of age
- Police Record Check
- CPR Certification
- First Aid Certification
- Outdoor activities
- Interacting with the public in a group setting / with animals
