Volunteer Position Title: Jump Rope for Heart Support
Volunteer Time Frame: posted until June 2018

Mission Statement: Supporting kids’ health for more than 30 years, Heart&Stroke Jump Rope for Heart encourages kids to get active by skipping rope while they collect pledges for heart disease and stroke research. The program gives children the chance to jump and play alongside 750,000 other kids in more than 4,000 schools across Canada.
Volunteer Position Description:
Purpose: The Community Engagement department is responsible for the development and delivery of the Foundation’s fundraising programs and for the execution of health promotion programs province wide. The role of the volunteer is to assist the Area Coordinators in the effective delivery of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario’s community based fundraising and health promotion initiatives.
Key Accountabilities: Work with Area Coordinators to develop appropriate implementation of plans for event maximization and execution (i.e. kick off events, customer service and event day execution); promote HSFC’s image and mission as authoritative voice through Foundation information delivery (i.e. Healthy Kids Presentations in schools); support area coordinators in the office with daily tasks, date entry, phone calls, drafting/sending emails etc.
- Experience in sales and/or marketing, and/or not-for profit industry and/or health promotion would be an asset
- Goal setting and achievement orientated
- Strong relationship building and communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Proficient PC skills with MS Office experience
- Access to vehicle would be an asset
- Bilingualism would be an asset
*Please note that this is not a full time position.
Volunteer Position Requirements:
- Police Record Check
- Minimum 19 Years of Age
- Driver’s Licence
- Standing for long periods of time
- Interacting with the public / in a group setting
