Evening Sciences

Academic Upgrading Sciences (College Preparation Biology and/or College Preparation Chemistry) are part-time individual science courses in the evenings from 6-9pm. They are offered twice per year; in late-August and early- January and run for 16 consecutive weeks.

  • The program provides students the pre-requisites for some of the health sciences programs at Algonquin College
  • These courses are not accepted as prerequisites for the BScN degree program.

Upcoming Evening Science Intakes:

  • Winter 2025: Applications for the 2025 January intake are now open. Please click HERE to fill out an application form. NOTE: BIOLOGY & CHEMISTRY ARE BOTH WAITLISTED

Applications stay open until class capacity is reached or until the course starts.

To be eligible for Evening Science courses you must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Live in the Ottawa area
  • Meet the English requirement by either completing the Academic Upgrading Initial Assessment (AUIA) or having one of the following courses: Academic Upgrading Communication 5 (ENL5952 or higher) or Communications 1 (ENL1813)
