FAQ

Can anyone take this course?

No. Applicants must be formally registered as apprentices, currently employed in the trade, and released by employers to attend the College. Eligibility is determined by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development.

Can I sign up even if I’m not an apprentice?

No, unfortunately you have to follow the pathway of an apprentice outlined by the Ministry.

Does the College provide contacts or leads for apprenticeship?

No, unfortunately we cannot provide contacts. A potential apprentice must find an apprenticeship on their own.

Where will I be studying?

This apprenticeship program is offered in the LEED® Platinum Certified Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence (ACCE). The Centre offers 180,000 square feet of space that will allow for all construction and related design programs to be housed in a single location. This inter-professional space will encourage collaboration between disciplines and offer many integrated and cross-program learning opportunities for students.
