Are there any difference(s) between the Architectural Technician and the Architectural Technology programs?
The Architectural Technician (2 years) program emphasizes learning for careers in the construction industry field and other fields as they relate to residential construction and renovation.
The Architectural Technology (3 years) program has a broader emphasis, including learning that is oriented towards careers in the construction industry field and other fields as they relate to residential and commercial construction and renovation.
How long will it take me to complete these programs?
Architectural Technician is a two-year program. Architectural Technology is a three-year program. Green Architecture is a 1-year post-graduate program.
Students who wish to move from the Architectural Technician program to the Architectural Technology program can do once they have completed the technician program with a minimum GPA of 1.9 and have been successful with a minimum of C-. After successfully completing the technician/technology program and some bridging courses, the student can apply to continue their studies and pathway into the Bachelor of Building Science.
Can I study part-time?
Yes, but preference is given to full-time students. If space is available in the day, you may study part-time but may be restricted in the courses you may take. If you are studying part-time, your options to take courses will be limited to those for which you have prerequisites.
