When is the next exam rewrite?

Registration is reserved for students on the waitlist only until June 6, 2008.

Registration will be limited to a maximum of two dates per person until June 6, 2008.

General registration will open after June 6, 20008.

How often are rewrites held?

Rewrite exams are held once per semester. Usually in the first or second month of the semester.

How do I register for a rewrite?

To rewrite any exam, you must first register in a scheduled course. See above

Registration is done through the Registrar's Office (C150, 727-0002).

After registering in the course, make sure that you contact the School of Transportation and Building Trades office 727-4723, ext. 7650 or visit the office in room A207. You must inform the office staff which exam you will be writing. This will guarantee that the correct exam is ready for you when you arrive.

All exam requests must be received by the School of Transportation and Building Trades no later than noon 2 working days before the exam.

Due to the limited space available, classes do fill up quickly.

There are no dates scheduled, can you call me when dates are available?

When there are no scheduled dates for rewrites you can call the Registrar's Office (727-0002) and have your name placed on the course waitlist. When dates are scheduled, you will be contacted by the Registrar's Office.

How many times can I rewrite?

You may write an exam for a module (grouping of modules) three times.

How long after I complete my courses can I continue to rewrite?

All rewrites must be completed within 1 year of completing your practical training. After this time practical skills become void.

I've passed the exams, now how do I get my Certificate of Qualification?

  1. Pay the application fee at the registrar's office (C building Woodroffe campus).
    Currently the fee is $100 per application.
  2. Bring your receipt to the School of Transportation & Building Trades office
    (room A207 Woodroffe campus). Fill out an application form there.
  3. Your certificate of qualification will be mailed to the address on the application form.

Is there a time limit to complete my Certificate of Qualification Application form?

Yes.

You must apply for your Certificate of Qualification within six months of successfully completing your TSSA theory and practical tests.

How do I get my marks?

Post Secondary exam marks are handed out in class.

Continuing education exam marks are mailed to students.

What do things cost?

Certificate of Qualification application fee: $100*
TSSA exam rewrite sitting fee: To be determined
Challenge exam: $303.33* (includes application fee)
Challenge exam rewrite: $203.33* (includes application fee)
All other TSSA exams:$50*/hour + TSSA exam fee + applicable taxes (includes application fee)
