The Office of the Director of Student Support Services oversees the following departments: Counselling Services, the Centre for Students with Disabilities, Health Services, Student Employment Services, Student Affairs and Orientation, and the Residence Outreach Services. The Director is also the liaison with student government and the Ombudsperson. These services for students are designed to help individuals get into the right program; to promote student success and retention; and to assist graduates find relevant jobs in their chosen field. |

Established in 1989, the Centre for Students with Disabilities follows guiding principles from the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom and the Ontario Human Rights Code to provide academic support services to students with disabilities who apply to or attend Algonquin College.

Counselling Services provides registered Algonquin College students with individual career counselling, academic-related difficulties, personal issues, educational and career resources, study skills seminars as well as other services. Learn more by exploring the Counselling Services website!

Health Services provides friendly and experienced nurses and doctors on campus to provide primary health care and answer students’ health questions. All Algonquin College students are welcome to use Health Services during office hours.

The Mamidosewin Aboriginal Students' Centre provides a warm, supportive and welcoming environment. There are opportunities for career, academic and personal counselling, as well as traditional and cultural gatherings. The Centre also offers the opportunity for traditional healing, meetings with elders, social gathers and educational workshops. Come and walk the path of our Ancestors through Education and Healing.

Algonquin College students and all applicants are eligible for assistance from the the OMBUDSperson in finding a solution to any problems they may encounter with the College or the Students’ Association. The OMBUDSperson is independent and impartial, and has effective access to both College and Students’ Association officials.

Residence Outreach Services is located in the Student Life lobby in the Residence. The Manager of Student Services and Educational Outreach Programmer act as a referral for you if you have any questions about the College or feel you need some help with academics, health, and personal growth. The Outreach Office is also the home of the Algonquin Residence Council. |

Algonquin College Student Employment Services helps students find employment and connects employers to qualified candidates. Student Employment Services staff also assist students and graduates with résumé writing, interview preparation, researching company information and employment search questions.

The Algonquin College Test Centre provides professional testing services to academic departments that have identified the need for testing of candidates to their program. Admissions testing is divided into two main areas: "College Eligibility" and "Program Eligibility".

Algonquin College strives to maintain a safe and secure learning and working environment for students, staff, and visitors.
The Personal Security Committee, a multi-disciplinary group with student and staff representation from across the College, plays a key role in supporting these efforts by creating a forum for the identification and resolution of personal security issues.
