Algonquin has a student support system in place to help ease your transition to college life. The following are just a few examples of the services available to ensure student success at Algonquin.
Learning from experience is about seeking out new opportunities for personal growth. One of the best ways is through participation and leadership in extra-curricular activities. Get involved with the Students’ Association (SA),an elected group of students who represent your interests at Algonquin. The SA organizes athletic activities and events, manages campus pubs, and oversees special-interest clubs and associations.
The Early Learning Centre (ELC) is a licensed Campus Child Development Centre and student learning facility caring for children aged three months to 5 years. Early Childhood Educators provide a developmentally appropriate full-day program for up to 49 children. For information call 727-4723 (Ext: 7774).
Algonquin College Student Employment Services helps students find employment and assists employers in connecting to qualified candidates. The Student Employment Services staff also assist students and graduates with resumé writing, interview preparation, researching company information and any other employment search questions.

Student Services provides personal, academic and career counselling. To help ease the transition from student life to the working world, we also have an Employment Services office, offering assistance with résumé writing, job search techniques and interview preparation.
Student Affairs and Orientation is the Algonquin College "welcoming committee", helping new students adjust to college life through Orientation activities.
Student Services also matches first-year students with second and third year students for one-on-one tutoring.
We not only have all of your course textbooks, we're also much more! Use our Text Book Search feature to find your course textbooks. Use our General Search to find any book. Visit our computer store for listings and prices of software and hardware on the market.
Staying healthy is one of the keys to enjoying your time at Algonquin. At Health Services, a full-time doctor is on staff to administer blood tests, flu shots, vaccinations, nutrition counselling, and anything else you need to stay healthy!

Centre for Students with    Disabilities

The CSD provides a variety of support services to students with disabilities in the College environment.  We provide assistance in many areas including Residence attendant care, academic and testing accommodations, learning support services including adaptive technology , note taking, transcription services and assistance with preparation for classes and exams.

Food Services
Algonquin offers food choices to suit all tastes and great value for money. Several meal plan options are available, according to your appetite and how much time you plan to spend on campus. Using an easy and secure debit card system, you choose what you want to eat from any of our six dining facilities, each with its own signature menu items.
Off campus, nearby College Square has several dining options, as well as plenty of shops to keep you busy.
Security
Security Services provides services to ensure the security and protection of staff, students and College assets on a 24hr/day basis.  Services and consultation in areas related to emergency response, criminal investigations, key control, risk assessments, electronic security systems design and application, crime prevention awareness and training and crisis intervention constitute the framework for the delivery of this diverse program within the College community.
