Police Foundations students at Algonquin College in the Ottawacandygrams
Valley can take advantage of studying in a smaller community by working closely with organizations to tone their pre-policing skills. Our students are active in several community activities such as the United Way campaign and providing security at Pembroke Lumber Kings Junior A hockey games.

Over the years, the College’s Police Foundations students have helped raise funds for several worthwhile causes such as head shaving for the United Way and board breaking for the Canadian Cancer Society.

This community involvement helps our students make valuable community connections and helps build their resume with important volunteer activities.  Since careers in policing are built on helping people and supporting communities, these experiences strengthen the foundations of their career objectives.
