How do I get research help?

The Algonquin Learning Resource Centre offers research assistance to our students faculty and staff via several methods. ( While we can't do your research for you, we will try and point you towards helpful resources and support your use of our research tools)

In Person at your campus library

  • (Campus locations, hours of operation and telephone information) All campus libraries offer one on one research and reference consultation at their main desks. If you approach the desk our staff they will be happy to offer some assistance that is sure to get your research started. Please note it is often helpful to have a copy of your assignment with you to show the Reference staff.
  • The Student Coaches provide one-on-one coaching help. While our coaches do not provide a proofreading service, they will help you identify solutions to the difficulties you may be experiencing with your English and research studies, as well as with basic software operations. Coaching is available at Woodroffe Campus from within the Mobile Learning Centre in C102. At Pembroke campus within the library in room 335.

Via telephone (Campus locations, hours of operation and telephone information)

  • All campus libraries are able to offer brief research and reference consultation via the telephone during business hours. At times we may not be able to answer your call immediately, but if you leave a message we will reply within 24 hrs during the business work week.
