What is My Library Account?
A library account is required to borrow from the library, to renew items online, to place holds on items within the library’s online catalogue and to access the library’s licensed e-resources off campus. You must have a library issued student card or a current Algonquin College Photo ID that has been authenticated with the library’s system to activate your library account. Cards expire, always make sure your card is active with your campus library.
For more information on other uses of your library account please consult:

What is My Library Account login and PIN?
If you have a current photo Algonquin ID card your library account number is A (For Algonquin) followed by your student number. The 9 digit number found on your student card.
Faculty/Staff will use their faculty/staff number, but should add zeros to make up 9 digits.
Your PIN is the last four digits of your student/staff/faculty number.
Student Example: A040123456
Staff/Faculty Example: A000012345
If you have a library issued card with no photo (orange or green card) your account number is the 13 digit bar code on your card.
The PIN is the last 4 numbers of your student/faculty/staff number.

Log into your account through the Library’s main page at www.algonquincollege.com/lrc/library by selecting the My Account link.
It is recommended that you change your PIN number after using your account for the first time. This can be done by accessing your account by selecting "My Account" on the library website or by selecting the same from within the online catalogue tool bar.
*Many old library cards are still in use. Please check with the desk staff to make sure your card is still authenticated and accepted.
