Teachers of English as a Second / Foreign Language (TESL/TEFL)

Algonquin College's full-time TESL/TEFL Certificate program offers a combination of theory and practicum courses to prepare participants for English teaching positions in Canada(ESL) and foreign countries (EFL). Applicants must have a university degree in a related field such as: English or Sociology. As communication is an integral part of this program, applicants require a minimum TOEFL score of 213.

The nine credit courses in this 700-hour program can be completed in one Admission year (September - May). To allow students more flexibility, the program offers three of its courses by correspondence.
