Who can use the MLL?
All students currently registered in language courses at Algonquin College can use the MLL.
How many computers and printers are there in the computer area?

There are 66 computers and 5 laser printers.

Can I check my email in the lab?

This MLL is for language improvement and study, not for email.  This means that during peak hours only language study is allowed.  You can check your email only after 5:00 p.m.

When can I use the MLL for independent study?

Some classes have scheduled time in the MLL for independent study. Language students may use the MLL for independent study at other times if there is space available.

How do I access the servers on the computer?

Students are encouraged to have a personal student account (user name and password). New accounts will be activated 5 days after student fees have been paid.

How do I obtain a user name and a password?

To obtain a user name and a password, bring your timetable to the reception desk and ask one of the MLL monitors to activate your account.

What types of software do you have to help me with my studies?

Microsoft Word: This is the standard word-processing program to type your reports, assignments, projects etc.

Microsoft Excel:
  This allows you to enter data for creating formulas, charts, etc.

Microsoft PowerPoint: This allows you to create slides for class presentations.
