Thank you for complying with the Access Centre rules and tips listed below which are in place
to help students fully benefit from the Access Centre.
For Lab Use:
- The principal use of the Access Centre is for educational / academic purposes. Access Centers are not to be used for
commercial purposes and no pornographic, discriminatory, or offensive material is to be displayed, transmitted,
printed or downloaded in the Centers.
- Computers are not to be used for recreational purposes between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. This
includes games, chat or recreational browsing, etc. ITS also does not support games, chat or third party
applications and systems.
For Lab Care:
- Only software provided by the College is to be used on College computers. Students are not to change the
configuration of the machines. Problems regarding configurations should be referred to the Lab Monitors.
- No food or drink is to be taken into the Centers.
For the Consideration of Others:
- No amplification devices or speakers are to be plugged into computers and no loud talking or any other
disturbance is permitted in the Centers.
- If you are away from your computer for more than 10 minutes you will be logged out and your belongings will
be delivered to security.
- Please clean up your station when leaving so it will be tidy for the next client.
For You:
- You should log out of the computer before leaving the Access Center Centers. This is for your protection.
Someone could make purchases in your name or send email in your name.
- When the computer starts up the system refreshes the hard drive information. As a result any files on C drive
are deleted so make sure you never save to C drive. Instead you should save to N drive, a floppy disc or a
USB memory stick. Note: There is no way for us to restore lost files from the C drive.
- For help with generation or operation of your network account or with Windows or browser software, please
see the Lab Monitor. For further technical help you can contact the ITS Help Desk at 5555@algonquincollege.com
or call 727-4723 x5555 or visit us in room C316. For help with specific software issues, (ie MS word, MS Frontpage, etc)
please see your instructor or consult the help feature.
- Any problems concerns regarding the Access Centre operations or about other users should be brought forward
to the Lab Monitors, Security staff or police .
Note. You are to follow all Lab Monitor and security instructions. If you are seen breaking a rule the lab monitor will ask
you once to comply and then security will be contacted. Thank You. |
