ACSIS for the New Student

ACSIS allows you to check your marks, schedules and other academic information. It is also where students go to get their username and password for the network. If you don’t have a network account visit one of the College Access Centers and a lab monitor will help you. Or visit the ITS office shown on the left margin of this, and all ITS web pages.

Logging in to ACSIS

First time you go into ACSIS the username and password are your student number and your birth date. As soon as you go in it prompts you to change your password. From then on it is that new password.

If you forget your password you can click on "forgot your password" to reset it yourself. Or contact ITS. You will be asked to answer your ACSIS secret question to confirm your ID or display a piece of photo ID.

What now?

There are a number of things you can do from this point. For your Algonquin NT account username and password click on the menu item on the left - "Network Account Info"

It will show your username, password and email address which is: username@algonquincollege.com. If the username is not shown then it may be too soon or you can speak to ITS for assistance. See the contact info in the left margin of this , and all, ITS web pages.

ACSIS for Staff

ACSIS is a system which holds the information about any courses you may be involved with or student job listings and schedules. ACSIS is one of the systems in the College used by both staff and students. It is important to note the staff use a different logon page than students.

For the first time you log on you use:

username: employee number (on your staff ID or a pay stub )
password: employee number again

You are then prompted to create a new password for ACSIS. If you forget the password you can contact ITS for assistance. You will be asked to verify your ID by answering your secret ACSIS question or display a piece of photo ID. Then your password will be reset back to your employee number. Please note that staff don't have the option of clicking "Forgot your Password".

ACSIS Global Support

ACSIS is a web interface onto a database called Genesis. This Genesis is used by the Registrar's Office, teachers and departments, financial aid, etc to record and manage student activity. Each night the information is copied from Genesis to ACSIS. This means that you may not see changes for 24 hours.

All staff and students can log into ACSIS whether they have a network account or not. There are at least two forms of ACSIS accounts, student and staff. Each has a different login site.

Why is there a secret question?

The secret question is used to confirm your identity if you need to get a password reset. If you call the ITS service desk or the registrar's office and can answer the question then we can reset your password for you. Students can reset their own password by clicking on "Forgot Your Password" then answering their secret question.

Sometimes people type a random response to the secret question and then they have to come to the College service desk to show photo ID to get a reset. So please take it seriously to save yourself the inconvenience.

ACSIS Passwords?

The account that confuses a lot of people is their ACSIS account. It is the oddball in a way. Almost every server in the College uses your staff or student username and password - except ACSIS.

Students ACSIS logon:

username: student number (040.......)
password: birth date (first time only, then use the new one you created)

Staff ACSIS logon:

username: employee number
password: employee number (first time only, then use the new one you created)

Don't use the student number or employee number for any other system in the College.

Change ACSIS password

You can change your ACSIS password at any time by logging into ACSIS and choosing Change Password in the upper left corner.
