Support FAQ - ACSIS
Have you got a question? Please write in. It may be useful on the FAQ.
Q. Why don't I see my recent changes on ACSIS?
A. ACSIS is a web interface onto a database called Genesis. This Genesis is used by the Registrar's Office, teachers, departments, financial aid, etc to record and manage student activity. Each night the information is copied from Genesis to ACSIS. This means that you may not see changes for 24 hours.
Q. Who gets an ACSIS account?
A. All students and staff even if they don't have a network account.
Q. I can't log onto ACSIS and it asks for my student number but I'm staff.
A. There are at least two forms of ACSIS accounts - student and staff. Each has a different login page.
Students: http://acsis.algonquincollege.com
Staff: http://acsis.algonquincollege.com /staff
Q. Why does it reject my birth date/employee number even though I got it right?
A. There are a couple of possible reasons for this:
- You have already logged in in the past and changed the password from your birthday or employee number to something else. (Even if you don't remember)
- You have caps lock turned on.
- The College has the wrong birthday on file.
- The syntax was wrong 03-mar-1907 (dd-mm-yyyy) It must be done exactly as shown.
- You are using your student or staff NTaccount logon. Make sure you use you student/employee number for your username.
Q. I can't even get the ACSIS login screen to show at my home or my non-College workplace. It gives me some kind of error.
A. Your browser or general area network security settings may be too high. Set your browser settings to default and/or speak to your network administrator about firewall issues.
Or
You are staff and the staff ACSIS page requires VPN.
Q. How do I change my ACSIS password.

A. Enter ACSIS and click on "Change Password" on the left. If you are a student and forget your password, click on Forgot Your Password under the logon box. All people can contact the Helpdesk for assistance.
