Reports

Our goal is to offer professional support in a technically diverse and changing local environment. We usually succeed yet know that there is always room to improve. Together with our clients we want to succeed and be truly proud of what we accomplish at the end of the day. We serve the staff of the College as well as our valued College clients - the students - the people who pay to come to Algonquin and start building (or rebuilding) their future.

Director

Steve Abraham

Director Stephen Abraham began at Algonquin College in the Information Technology Services Department in 2002.

Our Roles

ITS is a body within the College which acts in a few different roles.

Technical Support
Daily guiding and assisting specific technical problems
Education
Instructing individuals how to proceed or guiding decision makers
Security
Ensuring all the bits and bytes stay where they should and trying to keep the bad ones out.
Liaison
Acting as an intermediary between College clients, vendors and contractors
Consultant
Used by various areas and levels of the College to help make informed decisions, then, perhaps, taking a role in the technical implementation.
Reception
Greeting and guiding new staff and students, acting as College phone operator, directing people to places they need to go.
Client
We are also a client of other areas in the College so we are reminded the value of good client service. With some departments and areas the client/server role alternates depending on the issue.
...and, hopefully,
wise seer of the future.
A necessary but sometimes elusive requirement as we strive to know where the technology, the industry and society will take the College's needs.
