| Placement Test and Orientation Dates |
A placement test is required for all levels of ESL. The test will evaluate English skills, and you will be automatically registered into the appropriate class so you can best benefit from your courses.
You are required to come to the IEC in room C429 at least 45 minutes prior to your scheduled test.
We will take a copy of your Study Permit and then take you to your TOEIC placement test.

| Application Dates |
Applications should be submitted two months prior to the start of classes to allow sufficient time to process your letter of admission and your application for a Study Permit to enter Canada.

| Fees and Policy |
Tuition fees is $2,200 CAD per level (8 weeks, includes health insurance). Text books and school supplies are extra.
There is no refund for International Students in full-time College Approved ESL programs who withdraw after the start of the program.Back to top

A copy of the receipt from the bank should be faxed to the International Education Centre at FAX: (613) 727-7665. Please be sure to include your student number and names.
Important Notes:
- A service charge of $10 CAD will be applied from the Bank of Montreal upon receipt of your bank transfer. Please take this into consideration and increase your payment by $10 CAD.
- Bank or Wire Transfers can take up to 10 business days to be received and processed to your student account.

| How to Apply |
- Complete the Online International Student Application Form or download the PDF version of the application form and send it to the IEC indicating the start date and length of study required, along with your tuition deposit of $150 CAD (non-refundable). Include all of the required documents.
- Your admission package will arrive within 2-4 weeks after we receive your application.
- Pay your fees on time by following the instructions in your letter.
- Take your Letter of Admission to the nearest Canadian Embassy, Consulate or High Commission and apply for your Study Permit. This can take one to three months to process.

If applying for less than six months of study, the Canadian Embassy will issue a visitor visa if you meet the requirements for the visa.

If studying for 6 months or longer, the Canadian Embassy will issue a study permit if you meet the requirements for the visa.
If you arrive in Canada as a visitor and want to change your status to a Study permit, the process can be complicated and time consuming. It is highly recommended that you apply for 6 months or longer for your studies and receive a study permit before coming to Canada.
- If you are applying to live in the Student Residences, please submit an application online and be sure to notify our office of your decision to live on campus.
- If you are applying to live in a Canadian Homestay, please fax your application to the IEC as early as possible, allowing sufficient time us to identify your host family.
- If you require an Airport Pick-up service, please contact our office two weeks before your arrival date.
