Arturo Daly is a graduate of the Two-Year Broadcasting Television program.

The first thing I would like to say is that none of this good fortune would have happened to me if it were not for the great people at Algonquin College. They all took part in making this dream of mine come true. The scholarship is something I heard about in January when an International Education Centre representative spoke to my class. Through this I realized I could get up to $2500 to travel and work abroad. I said to myself “What are the chances of me getting this?” and went for it  thinking it most likely will go to some else. Then a short time later I was informed that my application was approved.

I made the initial contact with Venevision in January to work in Caracas for 2 months and they took some time to get back before approving my placement. The fine people at Latin Americas largest television station helped me with the necessary paperwork to help me get approved.

The first day at Venevision I hit the ground running. They had me shadow for a day and then it was all me working as if I had been there for years. They gave me the same respect they give all their employees and this is why I would do it all over again any time. I had I great time on my International Placement and I would recommend it to everyone to take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity.
