Animal Health Care Facility Campaign

Veterinary program

Algonquin College has continuously expanded its program offerings.  Now to better meet the needs of the animal health care industry, Algonquin College will be establishing  a Centre of Excellence for animal health care education.

This new facility will meet accreditation requirements for training veterinary technicians, and increase the capacity to train and educate more veterinary technicians and possible future veterinary technologists and will provide a state-of-the-art facility to launch new programs in animal care over the next three to six years.

The Algonquin College Foundation and its Board of Directors are proud that the Central Canada Veterinary Association (CCVA) membership endorses this facility.

"Algonquin College has has had tremendous success in meeting the educational and training needs of a variety of industries for almost 40 years.  The animal care industry is experiencing  major growth and once again Algonquin College is actively responding to the need of this community."
Ian Millar, Equestrian, Honorary Campaign Chair

The construction of this facility represents our commitment to helping to produce the best-trained veterinary technicians to respond to the overwhelming need for trained professionals in the animal care industry.  The new Animal Health Care Facility will be located at the Ottawa campus, with a opening date of December 2006.
