What is Blackboard?
Blackboard is the Learning Management System (LMS) used by Algonquin College. It enables faculty and students to communicate and collaborate within a designated course space. Professors can post/send messages to students using the Announcements feature and email. Students can interact with their professor and each other individually or as members of project groups. Furthermore, a number of tracking and assessment tools, such as quizzes and surveys, assignments, the Early Warning System, etc. are available.
Why do I need it?
The Algonquin College has committed to all students that course materials and learning activities will be made available via the College's LMS. Course outlines, class schedules, course materials and progress reports are to be provided to students through Blackboard.
How do I get it?
Blackboard accounts for students are created automatically 48 hours after registration. Students can log to Blackboard with their College Network (NT) user name and password at http://online.algonquincollege.com. For the Network user name and password, students must login at http://acsis.algonquincollege.com.
